Johnny Chan

Johnny ChanJohnny was born 1957 Canton, China. His family moved to Phoenix when he was only nine years old. Later on they moved again, this time to Houston where the opened some restaurants. Johnny went to school at the University of Houston, but dropped out at the age of 21 to move to Las Vegas and become a professional poker player.

When Johnny sits down at a poker table he always has his lucky harm with him, a “lucky orange”.

He is married and got six children and nowadays he lives in Las Vegas, Nevada, close to work so to speak.

He has won ten gold bracelets so far, and two of them are from winning back to back main event in 1987 and 1988. He was close to winning for a third consecutive year, but there he lost against phil hellmuth heads up.

Chan became even more famous when he played himself in the Hollywood produced movie “Rounders”, staring Matt Damon.

He is famous for his extremely aggressive style, he once said: "I like to attack. Not too many players try to bluff me. If there's any bluffing or stealing, I'm going to be the one to do it."

He is a frequent visitor to some of the highest cash game in the world, and his total winnings in the tournament circuit are $4,222,419.
