Mike CaroMike Caro is an authority on poker besides being a professional poker player. Mile was born on May 16, 1944. Mike is popular as ‘Gambling's Mad Genius’, ‘America's Mad Genius’, or ‘The Mad Genius of Poker’. Mike is an authority on poker statistics and psychology, industry consultant, and author of many books on poker.

Mike Caro is the founder of Mike Caro University of Poker, Gambling, and Life Strategy. This is world’s first permanent poker school. Mike has an excellent foresight. He had predicted in the early nineties that online poker would eventually overshadow and outdo poker games at land casinos. Mike has developed Poker Probe, a commercial computer program for analyzing poker situations. Mike also works as a consultant to various casinos and provides details about game odds.

Mike Caro has authored various books on poker. Some of them are Mike Caro's Book of Poker Tells, The Body Language of Poker, Caro's Fundamental Secrets of Winning Poker, Gambling Times Quiz Book, Gambling Times Official Rules of Poker, and Professional Hold'em Play-by-Play. Odds Quick and Simple, Poker for Women: A Course in Destroying Male Opponents at Poker and Beyond, Poker at the Millennium, Master Hold’em, and omaha Poker, New Poker Games - Descriptions and rules of esoteric or newly invented poker variants are a few more. Additionally, Mike has written fifty statistical tables for Doyle Brunson's Super/System and poker chapter of the book too.

Mike has made instructional videos with most of his books. Mike was previously senior editor of Gambling Times magazine and editor in chief of Poker Player magazine. Mike developed most of his poker theory with Art Sathmary and John Fox. At world series of poker in 1984, Mike demonstrated his self-written poker-playing computer program, Orac. Functioning of this computer program left many poker professionals spellbound.

Mike Caro organized the first corporate sponsored tournament, World Poker Finals, at Foxwoods Resort Casino in 1992. He has given various lectures on casino management at Annual World Poker Industry Conferences and gaming expositions. He also teaches poker, although he pledges students to abide by specific ethical standards of poker game.
